Welcome in the dark!

Copenhagen Gay & Lesbian Film Festival welcomes you to ten days of excitement, love, drama and kissing in the dark in the cinemas of Copenhagen, from 19 - 28 October 2007.

This year the festival starts with a festive, musical celebration on 19 October. The ultimate queer music video collection ever will be screened - a collection featuring the works of gay as well as straight artists exposing contemporary material diversity in both genre and artistic direction. Copenhagen Gay & Lesbian Film Festival runs for ten days full of films, special events, Q & As with acknowledged international gay and lesbian filmmakers and not to mention festivities throughout the city.

Special Guest Stars
Bruce LaBruce has become one of the most controversial and influential members of the "queercore" or "homocore" movement characterised by its extreme or guerrilla-type homosexual artistic expression. He is a writer, editor, actor and photographer, and this year he is not only a member of the festival jury, but foremost the special cover star in a celebrative screening of some of his most powerful and defiant films.

Émilie Jouvet uniquely captures women's intimacy in her films and photographs. Ambiguous, sensual, provocative, her models differ from the frozen clichés of the standard female homosexual representations. Freaks and chic, her models travel between genders, assuming troubled and confusing identities. Emilie Jouvet will introduce her film during the film festival.

A diverse range of films
Being one of the oldest gay and lesbian film festivals in the world, taking place for the 22nd time, the festival still exposes the energy and the rebelliousness necessary to stand out. This is apparent in this year's programme.

The Femmes will be celebrated in the best collection of femme short films ever. Whether you are lesbian, transsexual, gay or queer it is difficult not to be seduced by the strength, energy, and tender touch of these films.

Comedy and really hot men go hand in hand in some of this year's most appealing films. "The Bubble", "One Night Stand" and "Eating Out Sloppy Seconds 2" are a perfect start of an amusing night out. Bring your blind date - he or she will love you for it!

"Itty Bitty", one of the best lesbian films in recent years, is a guaranteed audience favourite. It is like nothing you have ever seen - a perfect Saturday night date movie with one-liners about the women's movement. Incredible. A little bit punky, a little bit sexy, and a little bit L Word - Itty Bitty... is a whole lot of fun!
