In 2006 Michael Laudrup was elected best Danish football player, ever.According to football legend Franz Beckenbauer, Michael Laudrup was the world's best football player through the 1990's. In 2004 Pelé elected Michael Laudrup for FIFA 100, a list over the 125 best football players alive. Michael Laudrup was born in 1964 in Frederiskberg in Copenhagen. He began his professional career in the Danish club FC Brøndby, where he later became coach. Michael Laudrup has played in several European clubs: SS Lazio, Juventus FC for four years, FC Barcelona from 1989-94, Real Madrid and Ajax Amsterdam, and he has won many championships with his different teams. Michael Laudrup has played 104 matches for the danish national football team. He had his debut in 1982 when Denmark met Norway and played his last match for the Danish national football team in 1998 when Denmark met Brazil. Besides FC Brøndby Michael Laudrup has been coach for Spanish football club Getafe CF and Russian Spartak Moscow. Michael and his family live north of Copenhagen.
