Europe is on the verge of converting to digital broadcasting. Digital broadcasting provides increased access to information - not just to editorial rooms of major broadcasters, but into the living rooms of households throughout Europe. These direct-to-home services deliver entertainment as well as political information and news. Could this mean that viewers and listeners will choose only to receive programmes and news which confirm their existing attitudes without challenging these?
Four panels address the themes:
The conference brings together leading international academics, key policy makers and industry representatives with a view to setting off a much-needed dialogue on the satellite challenges that Europe faces today.
