![]() ![]() The convention alliance BestCities has signed up for a new global program, which can improve convention bureau service standards. The new certification process assures meeting planners the highest level of professionalism in the meetings industry. The BestCities Global Alliance's primary goal in establishing this certification process is to be the only consortium of convention bureaus offering the world's state-of-the-art service experience to the global meetings industry. The program maintains a consistent level of quality and service excellence, regardless of which of the eight member cities host the convention. The members of the Alliance have been trained to monitor the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. In that way the quality and performance that the convention bureau service standards they their clients can be improved. The new certification process will become a mandatory step in qualifying for membership in the BestCities Global Alliance; a process that includes a stringent peer-review of the destination's ability to offer a superior international meeting experience, and a bureau's ability to ensure and maintain a consistent level of quality and service excellence. The BestCities Global Alliance was founded in 2000 and is the world's first and only convention bureau alliance of destination marketing and sales organizations. From Copenhagen, the co-operation is run by Wonderful Copenhagen in collaboration with the sister organizations in Edinburgh, Vancouver, Melbourne, Dubai, Cape Town, San Juanand Singapore.
