Press feature Enjoy a Night of Culture in CopenhagenOn 12 October, 2007 Copenhagen hosts the 15th Night of Culture. The Night of Culture is a manifestation of culture that includes all the major museums and exhibition halls as well as churches, galleries, and a number of venues, which are only open to the public on this particular night. But also public spaces are transformed into an artist's stage. More than 300 venues are ready to welcome you from 6 - 12 p.m. Visit the impressive building that houses Copenhagen Stock Exchange, walk around the city's pentagon-shaped fort in the dark, and discover Copenhagen in a magnificent one night only light setting. These are some of the many events offered during The Copenhagen Night of Culture. The Night of Culture offers a unique opportunity to meet Danish and international artists face to face. Authors read from their works, painters open their studios, and craftsmen their shops. Venues all over the city offer live music with a programme ranging from traditional Danish music and classical masterpieces to music from all over the world, salsa from Latin America or traditional music from Greenland. Churches are open, as are educational institutions, public buildings such as Parliament, Supreme Court etc. and several organisations seize the opportunity to inform the public about their activities. - 'The whole city is an integral part of the Night of Culture, and the range of major and minor cultural institutions and venues - some are only open to the public on this particular night - mirrors how versatile Copenhagen culture is. We encourage all the cultural institutions and venues to show themselves in a new light. And it is a unique opportunity for Copenhageners as well as tourists to explore new and unknown sides of Copenhagen culture'. - says Senior Project Manager Stefanie I. Bondy, Wonderful Copenhagen. The Night of Culture attracts more than 100.000 visitors, the majority of which are locals who use the event for a family outing where adults and children can share the thrill of the Night. For visitors, it is a unique opportunity to meet the Danes!
