Major expansion of conference facilities in 2008

Copenhagen has seen a major expansion in the number of meeting and conference facilities in recent months, encompassing large conference facilities hosting up to 700 participants, as well as smaller city-based meeting-rooms suitable for board meetings.

New Conference centre for 700 delegates
In February 2008 the Clarion Hotel Copenhagen**** opened a new, 1200m conference centre capable of hosting up to 700 delegates. The conference centre is equipped with up-to-the minute technology and flexible meeting rooms. The hotel offers 215 rooms and lies mid-way between the Bella Center and the City Hall Square, both of which can be reached in a few minutes by car. Clarion Hotel Copenhagen has also become a non-smoking hotel, in line with the chain's new policy under which all of its hotels became smoke free on January 1^st 2007. www.choicehotels.dk

New conference facilities at First Hotel Vesterbro
First Hotel Vesterbro, located close to the city hall square, will open new conference facilities in April. The facilities are ideal for downtown business meetings, product launches and executive functions and events. The new airy conference room seats 60, while four adjacent breakout rooms seat a total of 50. The conference facilities are annexed to a glass-covered atrium and a restaurant-bar.

All conference rooms offer state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment such as 58-inch wide-screen TVs, wireless microphones, large projection screens and wireless Internet throughout. Furthermore, the hotel offers 403 rooms and a business centre. www.firsthotels.com

RadissonSAS Falconer Hotel & Conference Centre expands number of break-out facilities in co-operation with neighbour
The Radisson SAS Falconer Hotel & Conference Center**** has found an ingenious solution to increasing the capacity of its own 5-star conference facilities. In order to accommodate events with a large number of break-out rooms they have entered into a partnership with their new neighbour, a brand new cinema with six halls offering 96-244 seats. The hotel itself already features the Falconer Hall, with 2,100 seats; the auditorium Audience with 300-700 seats; a number of smaller meeting rooms for 12-150 people; as well, of course, as 164 hotel rooms. www.falconer.copenhagen.radissonsas.com

Copenhagen Strand now with meeting facilities
The three-star hotel, Copenhagen Strand***, which is located close to Nyhavn and offers 174 well-equipped rooms, is expanding. To meet increasing demand the hotel now offers a conference room with a capacity of 8-10 people, featuring flat screen TV and free wireless internet. To accommodate growing interest in centrally located meeting and conference facilities, the Grand Hotel**** has furnished two conference rooms with space for eight and 40 people respectively.
