Copenhagen Award-Winning Hotels

The quality of Copenhagen's hotels is being recognised around the world. A number of hotels located in the Danish capital have won awards during the last year. Below is a selection:

Radisson SAS - best business hotels in the North
Business travellers around the world have voted Radisson SAS as the best hotel chain in the North. For the fourth year in a row Radisson SAS tops the Nordic Hotel Business Guest Survey. The survey was carried out by the UK based consultancy firm BDRC which interviewed close to 900 business travellers to the Nordic countries. The Radisson SAS hotel chain is rated number one in all areas and is the most popular and best known hotel brand in the region. www.radissonsas.com

Hilton Copenhagen Airport - Best Hotel
The prestigious annual Danish Travel Awards were held in October and for the fifth time Hilton Copenhagen Airport won for Best Hotel in Denmark in the Copenhagen Area. The Danish Travel Awards are the most respected awards in the Danish Travel Industry with more than 1,750 members of the travel industry voting in the survey along with the Danish Public.

Hilton Copenhagen Airport was also recently awarded Best Hotel in Copenhagen for the third consecutive year by the American finance magazine Global Finance. 20,000 readers were asked via e-mail to nominate their preferred hotel in a number of capital cities. www.hilton-events.dk

The Square - Denmark's leading boutique hotel
The Square has won a World Travel Award for being "Denmark's Leading Boutique Hotel 2007". In 2003 the Square opened with 267 rooms in the middle of Copenhagen's City Hall Square. Though characterised by a simple, minimalistic style its rooms all have a warm, welcoming atmosphere; some of them also boast a view to Tivoli Gardens.

The World Travel Awards is the most comprehensive and prestigious award program in the global travel industry. Votes are cast by travel agents in over 190 countries around the world and hundreds and thousands of votes each year are registered online. www.thesquare.dk

Hotel D'Angleterre - Denmark's Leading Hotel and Leading Suite
For the fourth time Hotel D'Angleterre***** won the prestigious World Travel Award for Denmark's Leading Hotel. This year the hotel's Royal Suite also received the award for Denmark's Leading Suite. Hotel D'Angleterre is part of NP Hotels, which also owns the lifestyle hotel FRONT; the business city hotel Hotel Kong Frederik****; and Restaurant Copenhagen Corner on the City Hall Square. In 2006 the Hotel D'Angleterre was given five stars in the Michelin Guide.

For the first time, Hotel D'Angleterre has also been awarded "No. 1 Hotel in Denmark" by the Spanish high-end hotel review magazine Diavaram. Diavaram is the world's most prestigious hotel publication in Spanish and one of the leading worldwide. Only 38 hotels all in all have been awarded in the three years since Diavaram started to review the high-end international hotel scene. www.dangleterre.com

Front Hotel - on Condé Nast Traveller's Hot List 2007
The Danish lifestyle hotel FRONT has been chosen as one of the 65 hotels on Condé Nast Travellers' UK and US "Hot List" featuring the best new hotels in the world in 2007. Condé Nast Traveller is the leading international travel magazine with a strong reputation for spotting trends within the industry.
