Petzi and his friends Pelle, Pingo and Old Salt, together with the good ship Mary, are moving in to Tivoli for the summer season 2010. The world-famous Danish cartoon characters will have their own universe for their capers: Petzi's World.
More than 20 million copies of the cartoon series have been sold in more than 20 countries, and when Tivoli's summer season starts on 15 April 2010, Petzi will also have his own playground.
More than 40 activities
Petzi's World, as it will be known, will have more than 40 different activities on offer spread across 1,300 square metres.
The activities are based around a voyage of discovery for the senses through Petzi's stories.
Children of all ages can enjoy the large new playground free of charge (after paying entrance into the Gardens).
Tunnels to Pingonesia
Giant decorations from the cartoon series and stimulating adventures based on Petzi's stories will be some of the activities, just as there will be rope ladders leading up to the steeples on the towers and play tunnels to Pingonesia.
Children in focus
Stine Lolk, who is Deputy Director of Tivoli, says of the new playground:
"In 2009 we opened Vertigo, the wildest ride of the year for our daredevil visitors.
In 2010, we're putting the focus on the children with a playground universe of a size and quality never before seen in Denmark, and which can be used by our visitors free of charge."
