Alternative shopping in the Latin Quarter

The small streets
Leave the crowds on the pedestrian mall behind and explore the small streets of Vestergade, Studiestræde, Larsbjørnsstræde, and Skt. Pedersstræde.

Mette Saaby, currently one of Denmark’s most acclaimed jewellery artists, has her superb little jewellery shop at 25B, Studiestræde, where you can watch her working the noble metals.

Right next door, at 25A, Studiestræde, you will find the Sneaky Fox fashion boutique, for 20 years a leading retailer of original women’s fashion and sassy stockings. There are more intriguing fashion boutiques for women at:

Syndikat, 31, Skt. Pederstræde, basement
One Off, 16, Studiestræde
Invasion, 10, Vestergade
Tone Barker Silke, 11, Vestergade

Time for a break
If your legs need a rest, and your palate is craving a cup of expertly brewed quality coffee, then drop your bags and unwind for a while at the Risteriet coffee shop, 36, Studiestræde, an absolute favourite among discriminate coffee geeks!

Galleries
The narrow streets of the Latin Quarter also house excellent galleries and restaurants. At 8, Vestergade, you will find Galleri Nørby, a leading gallery of modern ceramics. Galleri Stamkunsten, at 27B, Skt. Pedersstræde, features a store and an active workshop in which various affiliated artists perform their crafts.

End your shopping spree with a stop at the Atlas Bar, 18, Larsbjørnsstræde – one of the finest lunch and dinner restaurants in the area. Mouth-watering menus cater to meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
