Parken is the National Stadium of Denmark, where the national football team plays its home games, and where the successful club, FC Copenhagen, has its home ground. Parken also hosts other big events like huge television broadcasts, important sporting events and big name concerts. Parken utilizes a sliding roof so both open air and covered events are made possible depending on the season. This year, among others, Roger Waters comes to Parken with his the Wall Tour. This production was, originally, too difficult, because of its sheer size, to put on tour but new, modern, technologically proficient arenas have made it possible. The British pop group, Take That, will also come to Parken during the summer, where they will play two back to back concerts. The group, which fully reunited last year, goes on its Progress Live 2011 Tour, which will be the first tour for the fully assembled group since 1995.Parken will also host this year’s Dansk Metal Speedway Grandprix, where European Speedway stars compete for the world championship, which among other places will be determined at Parken.Of course there will also be played football at Parken when the Danish national team takes on Norway and Portugal in the fall. These matches will probably decide the fate of the Danes in the European Championship tournament. With a crowd capacity of up to 50,000, Parken is one of the biggest venues in Denmark.
