Kunsthal Charlottenborg is one of the largest spaces for contemporary art in Europe, presenting an ambitious programme of exhibitions and events with a strong international focus. Charlottenborg mounts three seasons per year, each of which contains a large retrospective or survey exhibition, a mid-size solo exhibition, and a range of other events - including talks, performances and screenings. This spread of activities is designed to speak to a wide range of audiences, making Charlottenborg important for contemporary art in the city. Café CharlottenborgThe café sells a range of delicious open sandwiches and homemade cakes, as well as coffee, ice cream, wine and draught beer. The café is open during gallery hours. Charlottenborg books The independent bookstore offers a distinctive selection of books and magazines, including publications in the fields of fine art, critical design, typography, literature and theory. The bookshop is open during gallery hours. Art and waterIf you fancy a joint exhibtion and boat trip, try a special discount, including admission to Charlottenborg and a choice of either a guided tour with DFDS Canal Tours (red line) or a one-day pass for the Water Buses (May to August). The tickets for this "art and water ticket" is adults DKK 100, children 3-16 years DKK 40. Departure is from the Memorial Anchor at Nyhavn, next to Charlottenborg.
