The beach area in Copenhagen consists of an artificial island just off the coast, forming a lagoon with toddlers' pools and a 1,000-metre long rowing and swimming lane. Three narrow bridges connect the two-kilometre-long island to the coast. At one end of the island, there are sandy beaches and sand dunes.
