The city's trash

  • Baggård på Nørrebro i begyndelsen af 1950erne Photo by Helmer Lund-Hansen

Skrald! - trash - is Copenhagen Museum's major exhibition about the city's garbage through the years.

Garbage is normally something we rather not deal with. But no matter how we look at it, we all produce a large amount of waste each day.

But what becomes of all the things we throw out? And what did they do in the old days, before the trash can even existed?

The exhibition itself is made out of garbage and recycled materials. Through movies, photography, art, installations and games, the audience will be taken on a tour from the landfill through the backyard and into the home.
