In the former "bath street", in the heart of old Copenhagen you find this cozy restaurant with roots back to the Middle Ages. After their bath visitors would often be craving for food and drink, and they would find both in no 10.However, the building standing at no 10 today only dates back to 1798-99. It was build after a fire in 1795 had devastated Badstuestræde. Københavnercafeen, a typical Danish cellar restaurant with rustic red walls, dark-stained tables and dim lightning opened here in 1983.The food is also typical Danish. For lunch the menu offers open-faced-sandwiches (smørrebrød) and cold dishes (platter), and for dinner you find solid Danish dishes as for example pork roast with red cabbage and the Danish equivalent to hash.
